The Favorite Parent

Kevin's the favorite parent at the moment. This morning after he left for a walk, Emma asked for more juice. When I went to get her cup, she said, "no, Daddy do it." Just now she asked me to sing a song, but when I started How Much is that Doggie in the Window, she said, "no, Daddy sing it." Oddly enough, this doesn't break my heart. I'm pleased that they are close enough for her to have the preference, thrilled that she has the verbal skills to express it, and somewhat relieved to have a little break. Plus, like all the others - good and bad - this phase will end as quickly as it started.
