I gave Emma a trim yesterday. Now I expect to catch a lot of flack from the grandmothers for cutting off too many curls. (Nana said "she better have curls when I get there" and the last haircut provoked the question, "why did you cut her hair so short" from pretty much everyone on Dad's side of the family.) She's a squirmer, so next time we'll go to the salon. Then I can blame the lack of curls and too-short hair on the stylist.
